Social and Sustainable Capital (SASC) has made an investment of £4.925 million In Blue Triangle through its Social and Sustainable Housing Fund II (SASH II), to support homeless people in the south of Scotland.
Blue Triangle was established almost 50 years ago as a Glasgow-based charity, to provide accommodation with support to homeless persons, and also outreach support to vulnerable persons in their own accommodation, to enable them to gain the necessary skills to live independently.
The loan allows Blue Triangle to purchase 61 properties across the south of Scotland (all one-bedroom flats). The owned properties will meet demand for accommodation for 61 vulnerable adults wanting to live independently.
Provides services to people who are at risk of or transitioning through homelessness, financial hardship or crisis.
Blue Triangle supports a wide variety of people presenting as homeless, including young adults, adults, women experiencing domestic abuse, etc.
The 61 one-bedroom dispersed properties will house up to 61 clients at one time across the south of Scotland.
The SASH-funded properties will help address the shortage of suitable accommodation in the south of Scotland and allow the organisation to expand its owned property portfolio and be less reliant on council properties and private landlords.
The management team is experienced and the project well-planned.
