SASH II funding will enhance and expand the organisation’s supported living accommodation for adults facing complex mental health needs in Bromley and Streatham.

St Martins will be purchasing a large property in London from which to provide supported living schemes for adults. The scheme will deliver personalised support for people with complex mental health needs to improve their health and wellbeing, maximise their independence and improve their quality of life

SASH-funded properties will be used to support people that may have the following range of mental health support needs: Mild learning disability or autism spectrum disorder; Substance misuse / dual diagnosis; Challenging and/ or anti-social behaviour; Risk of exploitation and harm; Lack of motivation with daily living tasks or to engage in activities; Physical health needs; Offending behaviour; Self-harm; Periods of mental health crisis; Support with administration of medication

The investment includes funding for the acquisition and refurbishment of Oakwood House, a 15-bed supported living service in Bromley, which will become St Martin’s flagship accommodation. At Oakwood House, the charity will deliver personalised support, aiding further recovery, optimising medication, providing psychosocial interventions, and assisting residents to develop the skills needed to move to independent living

The SASH-funded properties will help address the shortage of suitable accommodation in the LAs in which St Martins operates and allows the organisation to expand its owned property portfolio

St Martins has good knowledge of the needs of their clients, with significant prior experience of managing properties and tenancies
