12th August 2021 – Social and Sustainable Capital (SASC) continues with its growth plans and has expanded its team.  Miki Vyse joins as SASC’s first Business Development Manager and Rahul Rattan as a Portfolio Analyst – making a total of 10 new recruits this year.

Miki is part of SASC’s investment team and will develop networks and relationships with organisations seeking to borrow from the Social and Sustainable Housing (SASH) fund.

Miki has worked in the charity sector within member organisations for over 10 years. Prior to joining SASC, she spent over four years at The Jewish Leadership Council as External Affairs Manager and was responsible for political engagement in Yorkshire, the East Coast, and the East Midlands on behalf of the Jewish community.

She has also worked for the Leeds Jewish Welfare Board and was Student Union President and Chair of the Board of Trustees at Leeds Trinity University. Miki has also been a volunteer at Stonewall, the Alzheimer’s Society, Citizen UK, and Livingstone Tanzania Trust.

Miki says, “I was attracted to working with SASC because of their innovative way of providing finance for charities and social enterprises. This new role gives me the opportunity to use my skills and experience to develop networks to help SASC expand its important work.”

Rahul Rattan joins as part of SASC’s growing Portfolio Management team. As part of the team, he will work with SASC’s borrowers following the deployment of their investments, supporting them to best utilise the provided funding.’

Before joining SASC, Rahul worked as an Investment Trainee at Hong Kong based investment management firm, Global Core Capital. He also spent time as a graduate intern at Swiss-based venture capital firm, Convergence Partners AG and Intel Corporation in Costa Rica.

Rahul says, “I’ve always had an interest in the charity sector and have volunteered in several organisations addressing poverty, homelessness, and human-trafficking. However, my training is in finance. When I learned about this role at SASC, I felt it was an excellent opportunity for me to combine both areas of interest, which ultimately was really appealing. I’m looking forward to working with and supporting our borrowers.”

Ben Rick, Co-Founder and Managing Director of SASC said, “We have significantly expanded the team this year, as we are working with increased numbers of organisations seeking social finance. We welcome Miki and Rahul who will add their skills, experience and expertise to our investment and portfolio teams, and we wish them success in their roles.”
