SASC is delighted to have been named as one of 2020’s NatWest Social Business Champions alongside our good friends (and investee) Hull Women’s Network (HWN).
The SE100 awards are now in their tenth year and recognise the growth, impact and resilience of the UK’s best social enterprises. We were honoured with the social investment award winner for our Social and Sustainable Housing (SASH) fund created by with HWN. It was lauded by the judges as a real “investee-led deal”, “truly innovative” and a “blueprint” for others to follow.
It is always a pleasure when your hard work is noticed, and that is doubly true during lockdown as we have continued to work with charities that, despite the situation, see the value in SASH and want to follow the blueprint created with the team at HWN.
SASH was designed to help outstanding frontline charities to expand their portfolio of properties, allowing them to have greater control over the housing available to their clients. The structure of the loan also seeks to build in long-term resilience into the organisation, helping them weather uncertainty and help their communities.
